Aterballetto

The Italian company, Aterballetto has collaborated with the Swedish choreographer, Johan Inger (artistic director of the Cullberg Ballet from 2003 to 2008, then associate dancer and choreographer of the Nederlands DansTheater up to 2015) to present Golden Days.
Golden Days has three parts: Rain Dogs to Tom Waits lyrics and vocals, Bliss from the famous Köln Concert with Keith Jarrett at the piano, and as an interlude between two different eras, the solo Birdland based on Patti Smith’s eponymous song.

This tryptich reflects Johan Inger’s influences and stylistic identify: neo-classical writing with baroque richness combined with ‘Swedish refinement, contemporary boldness from which springs movements with a narrative verve imbued with remarkable dramatic power.
The iconic musical scores of the 70s and 80s here play a fundamental role, imbuing this original choreographed jam session with an air of a symphony layered with nostalgic perfumes.
