Emily BLUNT forever in Cannes
Parue le
At the screening of the series "The English" at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, for the opening of the 38th edition of MIPCOM, Emily Blunt performed the traditional handprint ceremony, reserved for high-profile personalities.
Carried out as standard in front of the public, an audience of photographers and directly on the red carpet, Emily Blunt placed her hands on the clay plate to loud applause. In this way, she leaves her indelible mark on the city and an unforgettable moment for spectators. Her handprints will join Cannes’ famous "Chemin des Étoiles" (Star Parade), which has nearly 450 others such as Meryl Streep, Quentin Tarantino, Cameron Diaz, Sylvester Stallone, Tim Burton, Clint Eastwood, Sharon Stone, Alain Delon, Jane Fonda, Morgan Freeman, Monica Bellucci, Nicolas Cage, Sophia Loren and Diane Kruger.
"Cannes’ Chemin des Étoiles makes a real contribution to the appeal of the city. The greatest stars of cinema leave their mark on passing through the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.
I wanted the handprints session to be another moment of sharing with the public, locals and visitors alike. I’m delighted that Emily Blunt was able to share this thrilling moment with us today.
Her handprints will join our parade of the stars, which will be reinvented thanks to our improvement works on the Croisette."
David LISNARD, Mayor of Cannes.
