The Tourist Board dons its 7th Art costume

Parue le

The most famous of Festivals blows out its 70 candles - this exceptional event is highlighted everywhere with the Cannes Tourist Board. Emblematic photo-portraits of Alfred Hitchcock, Sean Connery or again, Brigitte Bardot are exhibited on the walls of the reception area at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, alongside decorative elements, setting the tone and putting the visitor in the Festival mood. Glamour is - more than ever - at N°1, Boulevard de la Croisette!

An atmosphere that is elegant and low-key
Decorated in the theme of the 7th Art, the Tourist Board dons the colours of the Film Festival. Black, white, red – these three emblematic colours decorate the place with style. Visitors note the 70m2 red carpet, the projectors of old, the film reels, a giant clapperboard or again, the film-house curtains. Red tables and chairs are already in the kiddies’ area. These collectors’ items - with such a story to tell – truly mirror the soul of the Palais; they bring quite another dimension to this installation with, on show, black-and-white photos of film stars – Charlize Theron, Aishwarya Rai, Nicole Kidman, Grace Kelly, Ryan Gosling, Sharon Stone… a total of 14 snapshots, II of which come from the Traverso collection (three generations of Cannes photographers who have immortalised the Festival over the years)  as well as 3 Hervé Fabre shots on formats of nearly 5 metres long.

A new digital welcome
This month of May marks the optimisation of digital tools in the Tourist Board premises. Digital displays now replace the wall of paper images. A wide HD screen diffuses videos of each destination and its events. Tourists wishing to immortalise their stay in Cannes can “capture the magic of cinema” thanks to a Photo-Booth conceived by VIP BOX. The latter proposes a choice of 6 visuals blending landscapes and “Festival de Cannes” situations and props. Social media fans can send off their photos instantly via Facebook or Instagram.
From here to Summer 2017, 4 new touch-tablets will enrich the digital information offer and contribute to transforming the “new generation” Tourist Board.

Mr Z in autographs
Creator of the anniversary poster of the 70th Cannes Festival, the illustrator and graphic designer, Richard Zielenkiewicz - better known as Monsieur Z - will host an autograph-signing event at the Tourist Board on Thursday 25th May 2017, from 4pm to 7pm. Specially famous for his pared-down colour illustrations - of design and architectural inspiration - Monsieur Z has also created several TV animations such as Ratz and Jet Groove. On top of that, he has designed the new image of the Warner Music Group mascot.
