Less famous, his miniatures nevertheless immediately captivate the listener with their melancholic and melodic charm.
At the age of 20, when Chopin began writing his Concerto in E minor, there was a wave of revolt in Poland. Chopin thought of his feminine ideal and delivered a brilliant, poetic score, the second movement of which he described as a "reverie in beautiful spring weather". After giving the first public performance of this work, he left his native country and never returned.
