  • A century after the brilliant Harold Lloyd climbed the façade of a building in Los Angeles with his bare hands, a performance renews the feat on the walls of the Cineum in Cannes.

The scene has become cult: a little man in a black suit and hat is suspended by his arms from the hands of a giant clock in an American skyscraper. With Safety Last! released in 1923, the burlesque Harold Lloyd became a legend. One hundred years later, Antoine le Menestrel pays tribute to an actor who has always been a source of inspiration for him. Imagining a vertical choreographic writing adaptable to a specific architecture and event, he presents his world creation in parallel with the launch by the Festival of the brand new dance film competition MOV'IN Cannes. It could not be more fitting! At the opening of the awards ceremony, the man who describes himself as a "dream-maker" will perform his ascent along the walls of the cinema, designed by Rudy Riciotti, which hosts the screenings. And like the hero of the film who finds a friend from floor to floor, he will meet an artist from the region at each level, including Marcia Barcellos from Système Castafiore, the young circus artist Manouk Guibert, or the double bass player Jean-Christophe Bournine from Nice, to whom he has commissioned a creation of a few minutes on the theme Ascension-Descension. Not forgetting the acrobats specialised in Parkour, Lou FrHeaven and Anthony Denis, who will be at his side.
Thus linking the arts, but also the inhabitants, festival-goers, filmgoers and dancers in a joyful collective celebration. Strong sensations guaranteed!
