Cannes asserts its status as a student city. On Saturday December 16, 2023, the city of Cannes will be hosting the Salon du lycéen et de l’étudiant at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès for the first time. This event, organized by the L’Etudiant group in partnership with Cannes Town Hall, offers secondary school students, students and their families comprehensive information on the educational options available in the Cannes area, with nearly 70 exhibitors expected to take part. The event is punctuated by numerous conferences to inform everyone about the different professions and professional sectors.
This operation is the concrete expression of the ambitious approach undertaken by David Lisnard to make Cannes a land of higher education and apprenticeships for the benefit of young people and the future.
“In less than two years, Cannes has established itself as a major student city on the French university scene. This positive dynamic is illustrated not only by the success of the Georges Méliès campus, but also by the numerous local training projects, such as the establishment of the prestigious Vatel hotel school and the extension of the Institut Supérieur du Tourisme de Cannes. Today, Cannes continues to rejuvenate and gain in academic legitimacy by hosting its first Salon du lycéen et de l’étudiant on December 16. Our participation in this event testifies to the richness and quality of Cannes’ educational offering. It also embodies a vision of the city that is resolutely focused on the future.
Promote and promote Cannes’ educational offerings
Cannes is now recognized as a true student and university town, particularly since the opening of its Georges Méliès campus in 2021, which welcomes over 1,100 students. The l’Etudiant group is therefore joining forces with the municipality[1] to organize the first Salon du lycéen et de l’étudiant cannois on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes.
The event will provide young people in the Cannes area with essential information to help them make the right career and student choices. Thanks to the presence of 70 information stands[2] (university, public and private high schools under contract, specialized schools, CFA, student life organizations), everyone can access personalized information and discover different professional sectors and trades. A program of conferences, led by a specialized journalist and local speakers, completes this large-scale event.
Furthermore, a digital platform, managed by Groupe L’Etudiant, is available, from the end of November, to prepare visitors in advance and consult the list of exhibitors and the conference program.
In addition, this event is an opportunity to bring together young people, parents and training organizations around a convivial day under the sign of guidance and employment. For the Mairie de Cannes, the aim is to promote and enhance the value of what Cannes has to offer.
