Commission World premiere

Performative exhibition for 23 performers from the National Ballet of Marseille,
seven jumpers, five stuntmen, five performers, a DJ and 10 choristers
We Should Have Never Walked on the Moon is an unprecedented performative
exhibition created around the theme of musical comedy.
With this new creation, (LA)HORDE composes a choreographic narrative
between dance, cinema and contemporary art, taking over the various spaces of
the Palais des Festivals.

50 artists – dancers, jumpers, stuntmen, performers, DJ and choristers – will
come together to question the confrontation of bodies at play in action films
and musical comedies, based on physicalities.
Referencing Gene Kelly’s famous phrase, We Should Have Never Walked on the
Moon, this performance seeks to offer a new experience, as hectic bodies jump into
action, sing and dance. Choreography, installations and performances make up the
immersive narrative of this exhibition, placing each at the crossroads between real
and imaginary and inviting us to face up to these multiple realities.

Founded in 2013, (LA)HORDE brings together three artists: Marine Brutti, Jonathan
Debrouwer and Arthur Harel. From September 2019, the collective has directed
the CCN-National Ballet of Marseille (BNM). Dance is at the heart of their work,
the central core around which the trio develops choreographic pieces, films,
performances and installations. Alongside groups on the fringes of mainstream
culture, their works question the political significance of dance and map the
new choreographic forms of uprising, whether mass or individual, from raves, to
traditional dance, to jumpstyle.

Production: CCN – National Ballet of Marseille. Co-production: Cannes Palais des Festivals / Chaillot National Theatre of Dance / Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels.
With the support of the Alpes-Maritimes Department and the Barrière Group.
