Pyrotechnic Fireworks Festival

Since 1967, the Fireworks Festival is without context the most spectacular event in Cannes. During several dates between July and August, the bay of Cannes is embraced under the sounds and colors of one of the most unique pyromusical display in the world.

It is in the fantastic setting of an open bay between the Iles de Lérins and the Pointe de l’Estérel, in a natural setting and the 400 metre wide and 200 metre high, star bedecked screen of the City of Cinema, that the best pyrotechnicians will come to compete and win before an audience of 200,000 people, their heads craned skywards. This is a meeting of the gods of the world of fireworks.

International Dance Festival Cannes - Côte d'Azur France

Another festival in Cannes is biennial and inescapable. This one honors the choreographic for 20 years and reflects the historical relationship of Cannes with the dance. It takes place for 10 days in late November to discover the contemporary creations of large international companies.

Since it's creation in 1984, The Cannes Dance Festival has become one of the world's most prestigious and recognised festivals.

Its existence has built a strong relationship not only with the city of Cannes, but also with the dance world, due to the inauguration of the International Dance Academy in 1961: "Rosella Hightower".

Since 1993, this biannual Festival has built its identity around numerous creations centered around contemporary dance, presenting new talents and innnotive works of many international Dance Companies.

Choreographer and Manager of the National Ballet of Marseille, Frédéric Flamand, was promoted in 2011 as the New Artistic Director of the Cannes Dance Festival. In 2011 the theme of the Festival was based on "Modern Myths", however this year the Festival will be focused on "Tracks and Reflections". This programme incorporates a lot of detailed and sense-orientaded creation, and points at a strong stylistic and technical evolution in international contemporary choreography.
