Cannes named European finalist in the World Travel Awards for the second year running

Awarded in 2021 by the World Travel Awards, a leading name in the tourism and travel industry, Cannes has once again been short-listed for the European final this year! This time, the city is up against Barcelona, Budapest, Dublin, London and Munich. A prestigious nomination that attests both to the status of Cannes as a European leader in the events industry – particularly thanks to the dynamism of its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès – and to its ability to bounce back after the pandemic with an exceptional return to operation.

"In 2021, Cannes was awarded this fantastic European title within a difficult global context. Today, it has once again been named a finalist in the "Europe's Leading Festival & Event Destination" category. Cannes has everything it needs to retain its title and been able to demonstrate both the quality of its reception and the competence of its teams with the return of all its major events. Since the start of 2022, the International Games Festival, the MIPIM Real-Estate Event, the MIPTV Media Market, CANNESSERIES and the Cannes Film Festival have all welcomed audiences back and recorded exceptional participation rates. The Cannes Lions have just closed a record-breaking edition.
The people of Cannes have all come together, striving to help the city shine on the international stage and reaffirming its status as a flagship destination for events. »

David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes

In 2022, Cannes is fully equipped to retain its title

The only French destination nominated in this category for another year running, Cannes is once again buzzing with the resumption of all these major events, as well as the launch of new conferences and trade fairs, such as the Artificial Intelligence Festival, which welcomed nearly 10,000 participants for its first edition in April, or the Cannes International Resilience Forum to be held this October on the theme of major risks.

The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès also welcomes medical congresses, hosting The Future of Healthcare Meetings in July and the National ORL Conference in 2023.
In total, 60 events have already been scheduled at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in 2022 – a record number!

Thanks to its ideal location in the heart of Cannes, its state-of-the-art technology and its modularity, this is an increasingly attractive venue for organisers and participants of events, who take full advantage of this powerful tool – with the city within close walking distance.

From La Croisette to Le Suquet, to beaches, hotels and restaurants, the whole destination beats to the rhythm of fairs and festivals. Any event organised here takes on a new dimension: the professionalism of our organisers and the destination's evolving services are a sure-fire recipe for success.
