The exceptional presence of Benoît Magimel, who came to defend three films at the Cannes Film Festival, marked this edition by joining the personalities honoured by the traditional taking of handprints.
His mark joins 450 others on Cannes' prestigious 'Chemin des Étoiles', creating a dazzling constellation of talent. Some of the names already featured include Spike Lee, Catherine Deneuve, Sharon Stone, Meryl Streep, Tim Burton and Sylvester Stallone, to name but a few.
Benoît Magimel, an exceptional actor, has been lighting up the world of cinema with his charismatic presence since his debut. He quickly etched his name in the history of French cinema thanks to such iconic films as "La Haine" and "La Pianiste". His ability to portray nuanced characters and convey intense emotions has earned him many prestigious awards, including the Best Actor prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2001.
Off screen, Magimel is also a committed man. He actively supports charities and uses his fame to raise public awareness of important causes, such as protecting the environment and helping disadvantaged people.
As part of the historic works currently underway on the Croisette, the "Chemin des Etoiles" is set to undergo an unprecedented metamorphosis and development.
