The 8th Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC), Europe’s largest gathering dedicated to the Ethereum blockchain, held in Cannes in 2025 was a resounding success, attracting more than 6,500 accredited participants and 10,000 attendees. Building on this success, Ethereum France has chosen Cannes as the venue for the association’s next three annual conferences, which will run until 2028. The 9th edition of the EthCC will take place from 30 March to 2 April 2026. This choice confirms the relevance of the Web3 strategy supported by the city and its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

We’re working to make Cannes ever more welcoming, innovative and forward-looking. The Ethereum Community Conference, recognised as one of the world’s top two conferences in the field of cryptocurrencies, and which regularly changed destination, has decided to sign up in Cannes, for three consecutive editions. Our city is thus asserting itself not only as a capital of professional events, but also as a pioneer of connected hospitality and a key international hub.e and a key international platform for emerging technologies, capable of anticipating tomorrow’s uses and offering new economic opportunities to its professionals.

Becoming the first convention centre in France to offer payment in cryptocurrency is testament to our constant desire to innovate in the service of our mission: to welcome the world sustainably. With EthCC, we’re bringing together an international community that places blockchain and Web3 at the heart of its practices, and positioning Cannes as a major player in the financial world. This meeting of technological innovation and event excellence confirms Cannes’ role as a global benchmark.
Following the success of the previous edition, the decision to return to Cannes was an obvious one. EthCC in Cannes confirms France as the driving force behind the institutional adoption of Web3 and a pillar of the European ecosystem. We’re convinced of the city’s potential, and we’re going to redouble our ambitions for 2026.

Cannes transformed into an international hub for the Ethereum community
It’s now official: Jean-Michel Arnaud, President of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, and Bettina Boon Falleur, Conference Director, have signed a three-year contract to host and organise the Ethereum Community Conference in Cannes. The dates of the next three editions are already known: 30 March to 2 April 2026 for EthCC[9], 5 to 8 April 2027 for EthCC[10] and 3 to 6 April 2028 for EthCC[11]. This commitment to 2028 follows on from EthCC 2025, which marked a turning point for the Ethereum ecosystem. For four days, Cannes was transformed into a global hub for blockchain, welcoming an international community of high-level developers, entrepreneurs and major companies, particularly from the world of finance, to discuss the development and prospects of the Ethereum blockchain, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year: 400 international speakers, 6,500 accredited participants, 72 sponsors and 10,000 participants. EthCC 2025 ended with another major event in the ecosystem: ETH Global, a three-day hackathon that brought together 1,000 of the brightest international developers on the global tech scene and saw the emergence of some of the sector’s unicorns. These figures reflect not only the growing importance of Ethereum and its conference, but also Cannes’ ability to host international professional events and conferences, such as Cannes Lions, MIPIM, Tax Free World Exhibition, etc., and the Cannes Film Festival, the world’s biggest cultural event. By hosting the Ethereum Community Conference for three consecutive years, alongside world-class events in the field ofWorld Artificial Intelligence Cannes Festival (WAICF), the Datacloud Global Congress and the IT & Cybersecurity Meetings, Cannes has confirmed its position as a key international destination for events focusing on emerging technologies.
Web3: Cannes' ambitions asserted on an international scale
The Web3 strategy supported by Cannes Town Hall and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès is based on three pillars: – anticipating and modernising uses: integrating innovations into the daily life of the area, without ideology, but with lucidity and pragmatism. – training and supporting local tourism professionals: we don’t want to be subjected to technological change, but rather understand and explain it, and turn it into a lever for economic development: – enhancing the appeal of Cannes as a destination: Differentiate itself internationally with a modern, fluid and connected offering, in line with the expectations of residents, conference-goers, tourists and investors. By integrating these new technologies into its development policies, Cannes is assuming its role as a laboratory for territorial experimentation, at the crossroads of tourism, culture, the economy and innovation.
