Midem becomes MIDEM+
Parue le
Midem, the music industry’s leading event, has become MIDƐM+: an augmented, experiential and collaborative festival that positions music at the heart of tomorrow's challenges. A true place for innovation and convergence where music communities, creative and Web3 industries can gather, this new model will be interspersed with concerts, showcases, talks, master classes, collaborative intelligence workshops and business networking sessions.
The Town Council of Cannes and its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, the organisers of the Midem, are launching this new MIDƐM+ event which will be held from 19 to 21 January 2023.
Midem returns to Cannes
The music world has changed. From the first online formats to the resurrection of live music, Midem, the leading international platform for the music industry has been a key witness to all these changes.
The Cannes Town Council and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès are relaunching this event, which has been held in Cannes since 1967, and will be drawing on the expertise of the HOPSCOTCH*, PANDA EVENTS* and PIANITY* groups to do so.
The new Midem will be designed by and for music professionals. It aims to represent the entire global music ecosystem: artists, producers, managers, publishers, artist- and label-service providers, impresarios and entrepreneurs but also brands, media, academics and engineers.
The MuSee+ (Music Seekers+) community will therefore be created, as the music industry’s first business club and think tank. Initially, it will bring together the sector’s main decision makers who, as MuSee+ founders and associates, will participate in defining the editorial line and DNA of MIDƐM+.
“The Cannes Town Council is relaunching Midem to support the music industry and reinforce the town’s economic dynamism and leading position in the creative and cultural industries. The global event, under its new name MIDƐM+, must not only represent the entire music industry but also promote the latest technological and artistic developments. It will be designed by and for the music industry, with a strong focus on artists and their audiences.”
David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes
"All the businesses and sectors of the international ecosystem will meet in Cannes to reflect and respond to future challenges. MIDƐM+ will also give a voice to rare and inspiring people from every sector. MIDƐM+ aims to be an event to reflect, anticipate and support the future possibilities for music.”
Benoit Désveaux, Managing Director and Member of the HOPSCOTCH Executive Board
“In view of past and future technological transformations, our goal is to create a community that represents the music industry in order to jointly bring this major international event to life, imagine the future of music and help guide all artists and professionals towards new creative and business models. Web3 technologies offer unique opportunities for the music world. By setting up this new community responsible for creating the new event, Midem is sure to become an event for inspiration and innovation.”
Kevin Primicerio, CEO and co-founder of PIANITY
Along with Cannes Town Council and the Palais des Festivals, we wanted to return live performance to the centre stage for this new version of MIDƐM+, by organising many concerts, showcases, exhibitions, performances open to the general public, not just the industry. Such live performances will also be a vector for innovative technology (NFTs, Metaverse, AI, etc.), to strengthen the exclusive bond between artists and audiences. MIDƐM+ is truly committed to being the showcase for both the music of today and tomorrow.”
Benoit Geli, director/founder of PANDA EVENTS
The MuSee+ COMMUNITY already includes :
Musician Jean Michel Jarre and decision makers from Deezer, Universal Music France, Chocolate City, VRROOM, GIGZ, SACEM, ADAMI, SCPP…
MIDƐM+ will be organised around three pillars:

2. MIDƐM+ LIVE : Music is meant to be experienced libe at MIDƐM+, with concerts from emerging and established artists, open to the public as well as immersive and innovative artistic experiences, using Web3 to make waves both at the in-person event and online.
