On the occasion of his visit to the Cannes Film Festival, film icon Michael Douglas marked this special edition with his dazzling presence. Joining the ranks of the personalities honoured by the traditional handprinting, the legendary actor left an indelible mark on the heart of Cannes.
It will join the 450 others made for the Cannes "Chemin des Etoiles", creating a glittering constellation of talent. Names already on the list include Quentin Tarantino, Spike Lee, Catherine Deneuve, Sharon Stone, Meryl Streep, Tim Burton and Sylvester Stallone, to name but a few.
World-renowned actor Michael Douglas has captured the hearts and imaginations of audiences with his unforgettable performances throughout his career. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the 1987 film "Wall Street". He also won acclaim for his performance in "Basic Instinct" in 1992, alongside Sharon Stone. Other notable films include "Fatal Attraction" in 1987, "The Game" in 1997 and "Wonder Boys" in 2000.
His contribution to the entertainment industry has been recognised with numerous awards and honours, and after the honorary Palme d’Or he received on Tuesday, Cannes is once again paying tribute to his brilliant career by including him forever in its prestigious "Chemin des Étoiles". As part of the historic works on the Croisette, currently underway, the "Chemin des Etoiles" will undergo an unprecedented metamorphosis and development.
