« Cannes has always been able to adapt to évolutions to remain a welcoming, innovative and forward-looking city. The aim here is not to promote or judge cryptocurrencies, but to enable local businesses to attract international customers who are familiar with their use. In some countries, these means of payment have already been widely adopted; we need to anticipate this so that Cannes does not deprive itself of an additional economic lever. Training, informing and supporting professionals in this transition means offering them new sales opportunities. As part of our Web3 strategy, and in the run-up to the EthCC – Europe’s largest event in the field – we have decided to provide training and support for professionals in this transition, offering them new sales opportunities; We are positioning Cannes as a pioneer in digital and connected hospitality.

« As the first convention centre in France to accept cryptocurrency payments, we are continuing our commitment to innovation in the service of our raison d’être : Welcoming the World Sustainably. This initiative is in line with our desire to broaden our range of services to meet the expectations of visitors, delegates and professionals from fast-changing cosystys. Offering this new payment solution will make it easier to welcome international customers, while supporting Cannes’ professionals in adopting new digital practices.

Raising awareness and providing support: heading for EthCC 2025!
In the run-up to this major event, Cannes Town Hall and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès have set up a support programme for local professionals, with two Digital Camp – « Décryptons la cryptomonnaie » – workshops organised on 4 February and 3 April 2025. These sessions provided an opportunity to present the strategic, tax and legal issues relating to these new payment methods, to propose practical solutions and to share feedback.
