Cannes and its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès will be celebrating the 100th Annual Congress 2026 of the French Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SOFCOT)

The Société Française de Chirurgie Orthopédique et Traumatologique (SOFCOT) has chosen Cannes and its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès to celebrate its 100th Congress on November 11, 12 and 13, 2026. This benchmark medical congress, which brings together over 4,000 surgeons and healthcare professionals each year, will be held in Cannes for the first time on the occasion of its 100th edition. Hosting this congress is the fruit of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès’ “12 months out of 12” strategy in the major medical congress segment from November to February. This strategy has already met with notable success, with the hosting of the Rencontres Cours St-Paul (1,000 pax), the Assises Face et Cou (over 3.500 pax), the Congrès Français de Psychiatrie (3,500 pax) and the Assises de Génétique Humaine et Médicale (3,500 pax). Boasting a Palais des Festivals et des Congrès perfectly suited to this type of event, Cannes offers top-quality hotels for all budgets, and is particularly competitive during this period. With excellent rail, air and road access, Cannes offers an ideal setting for hosting major events, particularly medical ones, where everything is within walking distance. This unity of location in an exceptional Mediterranean setting and the mobilization of all socio-professionals were fundamental elements in SOFCOT’s decision by SOFCOT to hold its 100th event in Cannes, thus celebrating the history of one of the most renowned learned societies in the medical sector.

“Cannes is establishing itself as a leading destination for large-scale medical congresses by hosting the 100ᵉ Congrès de la Société Française de Chirurgie Orthopédique et Traumatologique. Thanks to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, ahead of Paris in sales, number of accredited attendees and days of occupancy, we offer healthcare professionals an environment conducive to exchange, innovation and the integration of the latest technological advances. As part of this dynamic, Cannes is also investing in training and skills development in the healthcare field. The creation of the “Communication, Media and Cancer” Inter-University Diploma, in partnership with Université Côte d’Azur, and the D.E.U.S.T. D.E.U.S.T. in pharmacy technician preparation at the Centre municipal de Formation des Apprentis (municipal apprentice training center), testify to our determination to promote the transmission of knowledge and improve patient care. “

“SOFCOT’s mission is to promote and develop research and innovation in orthopedic and traumatological surgery, in particular through its annual congress, which brings together surgeons and healthcare professionals involved in the management of musculoskeletal pathologies. The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes was chosen as the venue for the 100th SOFCOT congress, a resolutely international event focusing on the Mediterranean. All French specialists in bone and joint surgery will be present for this key event in the life of the SOFCOT, a meeting place for all generations. The quality of the palace’s infrastructure, the variety of hotels on offer and the ease of travel will contribute, along with the richness of the scientific program, to the success of thiss of this 100th annual SOFCOT congress in Cannes, which we hope will be a landmark event for our society. “
