“Public Power vs Culture: Dynamics and Synergies” with David Lisnard (Mayor of Cannes), Benjamin Barbaud (Hellfest), Frédéric Leturque (Mayor of Arras) and Jérôme Tréhorel (Vieilles Charrues).
“Les Stades: Rôle Majeur dans l’Avenir de l’Industrie Musicale” with Marie Chalhoub (Stade de France), Olivier Baudry (Stade Pierre Mauroy) and Pierre Duprat (LDLC Arena).

At MIDEM AGORA, the M.A.T.R.I.C.E. project was officially launched, providing an innovative response to the ecological challenges facing the music industry. The project, supported by Ekhoscènes, Bleu Citron Productions, Live Nation, S-PASS TSE, The Talent Boutique and W Spectacle, focuses on reducing the environmental impact of music tours.
The M.A.T.R.I.C.E. initiative (Musiques Actuelles en Tournée: Recherche et Innovation pour la Coopération et l’Écoconception) is aimed at all players in the sector, offering practical solutions to make productions more responsible. The project is supported by the French government as part of France 2030’s “Supporting Green Alternatives 2” program, by the Banque des Territoires, and by the Centre National de la Musique.
MIDEM CONNECT: At the heart of the new dynamics of Live Entertainment
This year, in partnership with the media company J’ai un pote dans la com, MIDEM CONNECT highlighted the power of live entertainment to connect with audiences. Through exchanges and expert testimonials, several key themes were addressed:
- How does live music generate engagement?
- Behind the scenes of collaborations between talents and brands in search of the perfect feat.
- The challenges of supporting artists and audiences: mental health, inclusion, anti-harassment.
- The golden age of live entertainment and its new dynamics.

Billboard France makes its debut at MIDEM 2025!
In a world premiere, MIDEM CONNECT announced the imminent launch of Billboard France. At an exclusive conference, Mike Van (President Billboard Worldwide), Nicolas Baudoin (President Billboard France) and Ulysse Hennessy (Managing Director Billboard France) went behind the scenes of this new adventure, which marks a turning point for the music and entertainment industry in France. A highlight that confirms MIDEM’s key role as a platform for revealing the industry’s major trends.

MIDEM ACADEMY: Supporting the next generation of talent
With a rich and diversified program, MIDEM ACADEMY offered masterclasses, roundtables, testimonials and workshops focusing on the key issues of training and employment in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI). With an emphasis on corporate social responsibility (CSR), this space encouraged the sharing of best practices and innovations to prepare tomorrow’s talent for the realities of the marketplace. A journey focused on the major challenges facing the music industry. Key themes included
- Inclusion and diversity: Fostering the emergence of new talent and exploring music as a vector of change for a more equitable society.
- Ecological transition: Understanding the notion of “materiality” and anticipating climate challenges for a more sustainable sector.
- Employability and entrepreneurship: Sessions dedicated to career strategies, new professional opportunities and best practices for success in the music industry.
- Mental health and well-being: Prevent the risks associated with passionate professions and propose concrete solutions for a sustainable balance in the music business.
Mentoring in 2025:
- Professionals: The mentoring program provided support and advice to the new generation.
- Students and young talent: Personalized coaching was offered through matching sessions with industry experts.
Thanks to MIDEM ACADEMY, 330 young professionals and students had access to excellent training, enabling them to acquire the skills and tools they need to build their future in the music industry.
MIDEM LIVE: A not-to-be-missed event for music fans
MIDEM LIVE attracted over 12,000 festival-goers with sold-out concerts, and offered exceptional performances, bringing together emerging artists and headliners in a vibrant, immersive atmosphere: IAM & l’Orchestre national de Cannes set the stage ablaze with a masterful fusion of rap and symphony, while MIKA lit up the stage with her energy and emblematic pop hits, LA FEMME, YODELICE, ZAHO, RONISIA, IRÈNE DRÉSELand many others transported the audience into musical universes as rich as they were captivating.

MIDEM LIVE off extended the festivities with exclusive aftershows at the Gare Croisette, a piano recital by the talented STELLA ALMONDO at the Église Notre-Dame de bon voyage, the FARIDOG ciné-concert by FARIDOG, and electrifying performances by the winners of the Tremplin Metal, MOSIMANN thrilled Cannes with an electro set of rare intensity for the inauguration of Malmaison. The Jazz Club and Tea Time sessions added a touch of elegance and intimacy, while the Aznavour exhibition by Roger Kasparian celebrated the legacy of a legend.
MIDEM AWARDS 2025: an exceptional first edition
MIDEM 2025 marked a turning point with the organization of the first edition of the MIDEM AWARDS, a major innovation in the music industry landscape. This exclusive ceremony, hosted by Thomas Ngijol, celebrated innovation and excellence in a wide range of fields, from artists to events and venues, as well as publishers and labels. This new initiative enhances MIDEM’s offering, providing a prime forum for saluting and rewarding those who make the music industry what it is through their creativity, commitment and impact. The ceremony has become a MIDEM highlight, reinforcing the importance of rewarding innovation and diversity in the sector.
