The non-profit association “Sport to Change the World”, in collaboration with the City of Cannes, is launching the World Sport Summit, an international professional event dedicated to the sports sector, on the theme “How can sport change the world? “. On July 24 and 25, 2024, at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, this summit will bring together nearly 200 personalities from the world of sport, including several Olympic champions such as Alain Bernard, Hassiba Boulmerka, Gwendal Peizerat and Frédérique Jossinet, as well as representatives from sports associations. A program of conferences and round-table discussions led by sports media specialists Jean-Philippe Lustyk and Patrick Chêne, and featuring experts from the fields of sport, economics, science and media.conomics, science and media, participants will have the opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and question the future of sport, its practices, its economic model and its innovations. Four prizes will also be awarded to personalities who have made their mark on the world of sport, at a prestigious gala dinner. This new event is part of the dynamic promoted by David Lisnard, thanks to which Cannes, “Capital of outdoor sport” and “World’s best events destination”, hosts the world’s biggest professional and sporting events.
Two conferences open to the public
Two conferences, open to the public, will offer a unique opportunity to take part in enriching and inspiring discussions. They will take place on Wednesday, July 24:
- 2.15pm to 3.30pm: How do you become a Champion?
- 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm: How can sport change the world?

An awards ceremony
One of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of the “Globes” to reward outstanding personalities and initiatives in the world of sport, including:
- Globe for Sports Charity ;
- Globe for Sports Audiovisual Program;
- Globe for Sports Innovation to Change the World;
- Globe d’Or: Charles Biétry will be honored for his life dedicated to sport.
