London 1888: following a series of particularly sordid murders of prostitutes in the district of Whitechapel, a well-known eminent figure forms a club of independent investigators to confound the assassin. Alongside Mary Lawson, one of the first women doctors of the time, we find the young novelist, Arthur Conan Doyle, the journalist, Bernard Shaw who would become the Kingdom’s greatest playwright, as well as Bram Stoker, the director of a prestigious theatre, who dreams of becoming an author. We very quickly take the bait of this well-constructed plot which skilfully holds the suspense right up to the end, and we find ourselves liking these avant-garde profilers, all of whom are blessed with strong temperaments. This fast-paced play also has a very successful theatrical design which paints a wonderful portrait of London of the period, echoing the many references rooted in our imaginations. As we follow the tracks of Jack the Ripper with the team, we hunt down the monstrous legend in a very British ambiance, a blend of Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes and Cluedo!
