DANCE WORKSHOP #11:
Encountering a dance work
Saturday 9 December - 2pm to 5pm
Palais des Festivals (Cannes)
What does it mean to be a spectator of a dance work? How to accompany the spectator in his relationship to a choreographic piece? Is it a question of educating the spectator's eye? What tools should be made available to them?
This workshop invites to several events articulated around the question of mediation practices in dance and the dissemination of knowledge around the works: an awakening of the gaze in connection with BIRGET; ways to deal, ways to heal by Elle Sofe Sara (with the participation of dance students from the Université Côte d'Azur and the Pôle National Supérieur de Danse Rosella Hightower), a meeting with dance students from the Université Côte d'Azur on the work of Amala Dianor, a stage edge at the end of Sous les fleurs by Thomas Lebrun, and an afternoon of reflection and exchange with artists, researchers and professionals from the performing arts.
Coordination: Axelle Locatelli, Amélie Clisson and Sarah Andrieu
Scientific Committee: Federica Fratagnoli, Marina Nordera, Sarah
Andrieu, Joëlle Vellet, Axelle Locatelli and Alice Godfroy
Organised by Université Côte d'Azur, CTELA, EUR CREATES - Arts and Humanities
In partnership with the Festival de Danse Cannes - Côte d'Azur France and the PNSD Rosella Hightower Cannes - Mougins
With the support of the Dance Researchers Association
