Canneseries
rolls out the pink carpet for seriesThe great love of series
CANNESERIES? It’s a meeting apart in the world of Cannes events.
This festival with its cheerful pop aesthetic is in fact the ultimate crossroads where those who make series and… those who love them, meet (and rub shoulders). What a program! For six days, the greatest screenwriters and actors whose exploits we follow on our screens meet on the now famous pink carpet of le Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. Get out the cameras!
“The values of Canneséries are to be glamorous, international, open, and to enjoy partying, with total respect for each other”
Benoit Louvet, general manager of Canneseries
A highly competitive event
Beyond the beautiful outfits and glamour, the competition is also in full swing.
Exceptional international juries must choose the winning series (long, short, documentary…), as yet unreleased in France, from an eclectic and surprising line-up. All styles are represented.
This is an opportunity for the general public to discover future hits from productions all over the world.
The pros at work!
The event brings together all those who make up this industry to share their experiences and nurture their network.
Several professional events are organized, such as an international writing residency dedicated to series scriptwriters and days during which international TV fiction personalities meet.
On the menu? strategic discussions, clashes of ideas and co-production opportunities.
The scenario of a committed festival!
Canneseries is getting involved in this fast-moving world. The festival acts in favor of equality between men and women by respecting, of course, parity in its jury. But also by taking initiatives to make as many people as possible aware of this major societal cause, always in connection with the series.
The protection of the planet is a priority for the organizers who, in addition to the many concrete measures put in place during the event, program round tables or screenings on this theme.
Canneseries also wants to open up to all audiences, because series should be an accessible, popular culture! This translates into an extension of the festival to universities or, for example in 2023, to the region’s prisons
Fleur Pellerin, President of Canneseries, considers le Palais des Festivals et des Congrès’ commitment as a mission-driven company to be a demanding approach that perfectly matches the very essence of their event. In a video interview, she explains in detail why this initiative is so important and how it fits in with Canneseries’ vision.
