“Every summer, the Festival d’Art Pyrotechnique puts Cannes on the world map. Free and open to all, it embodies our desire to offer events that are both excellent and popular, accessible and unifying.
Committed to preserving its exceptional environment, Cannes is careful to reconcile the magic of the show with respect for the sea and its ecosystem.
In 2026, the 14 July bonfire will have an even more special resonance, as a tribute to the victims of the Nice attack 10 years ago.”

A festival aware of environmental issues
A pioneer in pyrotechnic eco-design, the Festival innovates every year to reduce its environmental footprint without ever sacrificing the magic of the show.
For over 20 years, the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès has set up a rigorous system for cleaning up the Bay of Cannes, carried out by specialist companies, in order to preserve the marine environment. Since 2005, each fire has been followed by two complementary operations:
- Immediately after the show, 2 boats equipped with long-range searchlights collect waste on the surface using nets for nearly two hours The waste is collected on the surface using side nets (3.50 m wide) connected to recovery bags;
- The following morning, divers were deployed over a wider area to remove the waste deposited on the seabed.
This exemplary system illustrates the Festival’s ongoing commitment to protecting the environment. The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, organiser of the event, is committed to quality, safety and sustainable development.
Weather protocol
Rigorous protocols are in place to guarantee public safety.
A fire may be postponed if :
- the wind exceeds 20 km/h at the time of firing,
- swell exceeds 1 metre, making it impossible to install barges,
- in the event of severe or adverse weather conditions.
Any postponements will be announced on the official website and social networks.
A blend of artistic excellence, collective emotion and environmental commitment, the Cannes 2026 Festival d’Art Pyrotechnique is an event like no other in the world. An invitation to share beauty, light and music, with your eyes turned skywards, with family and friends.
